Jamcracker and KPN Partner to Deliver Aggregated Cloud Services to Enterprises

A leader in IT service provider bolsters its cloud initiative leveraging Jamcracker's Services Delivery Network.

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Dec. 7, 2011 – Jamcracker, the Cloud Services Brokerage enablement company, and KPN, the Dutch market leader in IT, today announced they are partnering to create a cloud services aggregator platform for enterprise customers. Delivering on the KPN services aggregator strategy, the platform encompasses Jamcracker’s cloud services brokerage platform, enabling KPN to provide value-added services for their customers. This technology and business partnership is underpinned with a strategically important contract between the two companies.

A new business model, often referred to as a cloud services broker, is emerging around aggregating and reselling of cloud services. This model affords IT and telecom providers the opportunity to expand and optimize their service offerings with a platform that helps enterprises converge and manage cloud and non-cloud services, providing a flexible foundation for innovation and accelerated time to market. By working with Jamcracker and utilizing the Jamcracker Services Delivery Network (JSDN), KPN has brought this model to life through its services aggregator platform. The platform not only offers KPN services, but also third party and customer legacy services and delivers them 'as a service', becoming one of the first cloud services brokers capable of supporting large enterprises on a global scale.

"The KPN cloud aggregation and delivery platform leverages our telecommunications and IT expertise to help us deliver on our strategy to converging information, technology and telecommunications and to optimize opportunities for our customers," said Steven van Schilfgaarde, CEO KPN Corporate Market. "By partnering with Jamcracker, we are able to work together on this vision and utilize the JSDN to quickly deliver a platform that sets a standard among enterprises."

While the cloud delivers unparalleled benefits to enterprises, it also creates challenges, mainly in the areas of legacy applications, processes, integration, synchronization, billing and compliance. The KPN platform supports enterprises by providing improved management of access to cloud services, identity management, performance reporting and enhanced security. "This, in turn, delivers cost savings, increased productivity and device independent delivery resulting in flexibility and a whole new way of working."

"KPN has shown leadership and vision in its commitment to delivering this sophisticated aggregation platform for enterprises," said KB Chandrasekhar, CEO and chairman at Jamcracker. "The KPN platform is the first instance of an enterprise cloud brokerage operating on a global scale, making it easy for enterprises to assemble and collect services creating an internal marketplace of cloud and non-cloud applications that enterprises can leverage for operational efficiency and increased revenue."
